"If I get this I will be happy, if I get that I will be happy". Something we all say to ourselves, its an easy trap to fall into it.
We are like the dogs chasing car tires, if we get there we don't know what to do, and if we don't get to the tires, well it was fun trying...it sure beats sitting around doing nothing!
The truth is we are scared, we are scared of the silence, of doing nothing. And we don't trust in ourselves and the divine that everything will be ok, in truth we really need a lot less than we work our but off for. The silence is where we belong, where we can draw strength from, where we can seek shelter, and be our sanctuary...
Show me a person who can sit in silence in a room for 10 minutes doing nothing, now thats a person I would want to be friends with.
One is not to blame, for it is the nature of one's mind to be restless and be a bit insecure, however there is much more peace and happiness that lies beyond the shallowness of the mind and its agents (ego/ankar, kam/lust, krod/anger, loh(wanting something that is not yours), moh (attachment).
The trouble is that we only know what is in our frame of reference. Discover a frame of reference yourself beyond the shallowness of what society is pushing in your face every single day: experience it, relish it, hang on to it, break the habits of the past, see how much more alive you feel...and stop chasing those damn care tires!
