A spoonful of salt

We often look at our problems as insurmountable...however if we look deeper, and expand our consciousness, they are really quite inconsequential.

There is a lot to be grateful for if you look carefully, even suffering has a purpose, to make you grow stronger, to make you grow wiser, to drive you to your real self otherwise you will just be too complacent.  We often can't see around the corner, yet in retrospect, everything leading up to now seems to makes sense, even so called mistakes...

I love this beautiful piece of writing by Jack Kornfield in his book "The Art of Forgiveness, Lovingkindess and Peace", there is a lot of depth in this few lines.  My spiritual mentor always said "through meditation mountains become molehills", reading this I know what that means:
If you put a spoonful of salt in a cup of water
It tastes very salty
If you put a spoonful of salt in a lake of fresh water
the taste is still pure and clear.

So it is with us, if our minds are filled with the pettiness of everyday, the garbage of the media, our own struggles for power, what else do we expect but suffering, on the other hand, if we build in the practice of daily meditation, and experience that sense of expansion, the boundaries of the ego melt away, the joy in being and giving become reality...problems sort themselves out, and we will be in peace...
